Recommended Study Order

Which subject to study first — and why

Most candidates sit multiple subjects. The order matters more than most realise — getting exam technique right on an easier subject carries forward to harder ones.

1

Administrative Law

Most commonly assigned subject and the most structurally clear. Vavilov gives you a defined framework with predictable exam questions. Starting here builds the template discipline that all other subjects require.

2

Criminal Law

High structure, logical progression. Once you know how to apply a legal test from Admin Law, Criminal Law follows the same discipline. The offence elements and defence charts make this methodical rather than difficult.

3

Constitutional Law

The hardest of the five. Division of powers, Charter analysis, Oakes, s.35 — all in one subject. Do this after you have exam technique from the first two. The volume of frameworks is manageable once you already know how to work from templates under time pressure.

4

Foundations of Canadian Law & Professional Responsibility

Either order. FCL is conceptually different — it tests format discipline and reading engagement rather than legal test application. PR is framework-heavy but self-contained. Both reward candidates who already understand what the exam expects from them.

The notes are the foundation. Additional preparation resources are in development and will be available to candidates on the waitlist first.

Q3 2026

Video Lecture Series

Five subjects × 8–12 minute modules, one per topic. Short, targeted, built for candidates who have limited study time. Not a lecture course — a framework walkthrough.

Q3 2026

Performance Pods

Small-group accountability pods, 6 candidates maximum. Structured around the exam session cycle. Candidates work through practice questions together under timed conditions with feedback. Join the waitlist →

Q4 2026 –
Q1 2027

App / Note Reader

A dedicated reading environment for the notes — structured navigation, topic search, and progress tracking. Built for the way candidates actually study: in fragments, across devices, under time pressure.
